Skills Social - Intro to Darning - Thursday 15th May 18:30 - 20:30
Thursday 15th May, 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Join us for an evening of friendly chat and some mindful crafting as you learn the important art of darning. This is the perfect opportunity to dip your toe into a new craft and spend an evening with fellow creatives.
Bring along something to practice on – a holey or threadbare sock is a perfect project – and we will take you through the simple steps to give your clothes a longer life and a lot more character.
No prior experience needed! Experienced menders are just as welcome as beginners. Materials will be provided, and if you forget your sock, we will have some scrap fabric handy so you can join in.
The workshop will be taught by Holly and Liv, together we make up the Darling Mushrooms, a crafting duo who lead beginner-friendly workshops.
What to expect? You'll be greeted with warm smiles and a glass of wine to kickstart your evening of creativity. We will guide you through the steps and techniques of darning to make sure you are confident in your project, allowing you to explore colourful mending designs to your hearts' content
Make connections with others who share your love of crafts. You'll have plenty of opportunities to chat, share ideas, and make new friends. Whether you're a seasoned crafter or just starting your creative journey, we are on hand to guide you every step of the way. From beginners to experts, everyone is welcome! The inclusive and friendly crew at Shoreditch Design Rooms will ensure you feel comfortable and supported as you explore your creative side.
What to bring? All you need to bring is your delightful self. The supplies you need to learn this mesmerising craft will be provided for you so you can let your imagination run free as you learn the basics and explore your creative side and unique style.
Skills Socials are our initiative to get people in touch with crafts and other makers, no pressure — just creativity, fun and relaxation! Come on your own, or bring friends and family, plus BYOB to really get the social side going!
