Pleated Lampshade Making Course - 2 Days - Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th February 2025
Join us for this jam packed two day weekend course on the 15th and 16th February learning to make a hand sewn, lined and pleated lampshade. The course will be taught by Charlotte Campbell of @TheCharlotteCampbellCollection .
During the two days you’ll:
Learn how to template for lining and outer fabric for your shade
Master the art of the lampshade stitch
Learn about the fabric ‘bias’ and maintaining tension without distorting your pattern
Leave the course with a lined pleated lampshade with trim, all hand sewn
Notes and instructions on how to work on other types of frames are also covered, so you can confidently tackle other shapes. The £320.00 price includes frames, teaching, use of tools, teas, coffees and biscuits. Students can bring their own choice of fabric, but a small selection will also be available to purchase on the day. Get in touch with us if you’d like recommendations for sourcing fabrics. The days will run from 9:30 - 17:00 with 45 minutes for a lunch break. There is a lot to fit in to the two days so students may wish to bring a packed lunch. Our courses are run based on a minimum number of attendees, on the rare chance we do not gain enough people we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule and will notify you as soon as we possibly can.
